The purpose of this mapbook is to help emergency personnel better
locate residences, tracts of land and other areas in Latah County
during emergency situations whether it is for law enforcement, fire,
search-and-rescue, or medical assistance.

Over the years, Bennett Lumber has assembled a state-of-the-art
Geographic Information System. This system, using ESRI's ArcInfo,
ArcView, and ArcMap software, covers almost 7.5 million acres in
Idaho, Washington and Oregon. Some features implemented into the
project are roads, ownership, hydrology, contours, landuse, survey
corners, digital orthophoto coverage and digital elevation models.

The tabloid-size 88-page mapbook was created by Lisa Rode, GIS Specialist for Bennett Lumber Products.
Included in the book are homesites, rural address index numbers, road names, highway mile markers, forest cover,
trailer/mobile home courts, Forest Service routes and trails, many gate locations, mines/gravel pits, fire districts and
power transmission lines. There are also latitude and longitude reference marks, 40-ft contours, detail sheets of
densely populated areas and detailed city maps with parcel tract numbers, street names, and city limits.

To ensure the highest accuracy of data, the Emergency Services Mapbook is in a constant state of maintenance,
update, and correction. A new version of the mapbook has been generally published every four years. A new 2008
version of the Mapbook will soon be published. Sporting a new format, single page updates will be available as soon
as new addresses are developed, rather than waiting for a complete book update.

Please Note: Due to legal contract with Latah County, this mapbook is only available to
law enforcement, search and rescue, fire departments and ambulance/medical response teams. Please contact
Bennett Lumber if you have any questions at 208-875-1121, Monday through Friday 8:00am-4:30pm.

Bennett Lumber does not profit from these mapbooks; purchase price does not exceed the cost of production.
